About Brunilda Nazario
Brunilda Nazario is the associate medical director and lead medical editor at WebMD. She is a board-certified internist and endocrinologist, is board certified in advanced diabetes management, and is a diplomat and board certified with the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is the past chair for The National Obesity Society, the Latin American Association Section. After obtaining her medical degree, she completed her training in New York City and later pursued her specialty in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of California in Irvine. During her fellowship, she was studied vascular peptides, for which she received the Merck Senior Fellow Award for Notable Research in 1994. She joined the faculty at the University of California in Irvine and later joined the faculty at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She’s had a private practice in Santa Fe, NM, and then joined WebMD in 2002.
Nazario has been a guest speaker for numerous organizations, including The American Heart Association, and is a regular contributor to various media outlets, including CBS radio and news, and publications such as Women’s Health, Readers Digest, The Evening News, Parade, Noticias Telemundo, and others. She is now completing a training program in Alternative Health and Integrative Medicine.
She is a delegate for the Global Wellness Submit, which helps empower wellness through preventative health and wellness. She is an avid cyclist and has traveled thorough the country riding for cancer research. She was a spin instructor at her local YMCA and a health coach, helping people live healthier more balanced lives.
